Catherine Wong Profile.

Leadership Experience:

Catherine is the former Hong Kong office head of APCO Worldwide, a global strategic communications consultancy headquartered in Washington D.C., the USA. As the Deputy Managing Director, she oversaw APCO’s local operations in terms of both profit & loss and staff management responsibilities, at the same time provided counsel to senior executives on communications strategies with the aim of achieving specific business objectives.

On the client side, Catherine has extensive experience in communications counsel work. She collaborated closely with clients to devise strategy on financial, corporate and employee communications, corporate change management initiatives, media relations and crisis management.

Catherine has worked with a diverse clientele throughout her career – including companies from the financial, chemical, professional services, property development, technology, media and transportation industries.

Corporate Training Experience:

Her role at APCO allowed Catherine to gain first-hand experience in mentoring and coaching staff members and managers. With her strong interest in leadership and talent development, she initiated and developed a number of internal management training workshops for the firm.

She also designed and conducted more than a dozen local and regional corporate training programs to equip managers and executives to communicate more effectively with diverse stakeholders including staff members, the media, professional and retail investors.

Companies that she has provided communications or management training for include: Amadeus, BlackRock, Cathay Pacific, Dow Corning, Friends Provident International, INVISTA, Prudential and Shui On Land.

Education & Professional Accreditations:

Catherine graduated from the Richard Ivey School of Business where she obtained her Bachelor of Arts (Honors Business Administration) degree. She is an accredited practitioner of Myers-Briggs Type Indicator ® Step I & II.
